CT-guided percutaneous Transthoracic lung biopsy is a safe and accurate method of diagnosis and differential diagnosis of pulmonary lesions with high clinical value.
Since 1985 this technology was applied to clinical practice and has been for nearly 30 years, CT-guided percutaneous lung biopsy has become a mature technology. Our hospital is one of the earliest hospitals in this technical, especially as one of the key projects in our department to benefit many patients.
Under the guidance of chief physician in our Department Qianzhi Wang, and completed a clinical application of CT-guided percutaneous Transthoracic lung biopsy (a report of 100 cases) 。Includeing 2 cases of repeated puncture. 88 cases of lung cancer, pathology results and operation consistent in 86 cases, the other 2 cases with no cancer cells, but subsequent operation and clinical proven malignancy. Tuberculosis in 6 cases, 2 of inflammatory pseudotumor, 2 of spherical pneumonia, Lung abscess in 2 cases, none of pneumothorax, and incidence of 0% . 1 patients with hemoptysis, the occurrence rate of 1% .
It is reported the accuracy of CT-guided percutaneous biopsy of lung tumor is 80%-100%,which is similar to 98% in our department.Therefore,CT-guided percutaneous lung biopsy ,as an important method of obtaining cytology or pathology diagnosis before surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, can lay a good foundation for follow-up treatment of patients, including testing EGFR mutations and ALK rearrangements.
